Keith Kellogg, Donald Trumps appointed special representative for Ukraine and Russia, has criticised the assassination of Russian Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov in Moscow.
Source: European Pravda, citing Kellogg on Fox Business
Details: Kellogg stated that the killing of Kirillov does not obstruct "peace talks" between Ukraine and Russia but could potentially violate the rules of warfare.
Quote: "When you kill flag officers, general officers, admirals or generals in their hometown, its like you kind of extended it [the rules of war]. And I dont think thats very smart to do it."
More details: Kellogg also pointed out that in Kirillovs case, the assassination was reportedly carried out by a recruited individual, which he described as "not a good idea at all". ... "But, you know, this is warfare... This is a kind of thing you see in warfare. Its unfortunate. That's the reason why soldiers never want to go to war, because this is what happens," he stated.

(59,656 posts)1. The general is a war criminal and fair game.
He was using poison gas and chemicals against Ukraine troops.
This death also puts Zelensky in a stronger bargaining position
as it psychologically is doing a lot of damage to the Russians.
The military brass are not safe anywhere now.
Trump is trying to weaken Zelensky's position.

it's like you kind of extend it. And I don't think that's very smart to do it." Did he clear this comment with his boss? Because during his first reign of terror/corrupt, I recall Don the Con taking great pride in the assassination of the Iranian Quds Force Major General, Qasem Solemani, in Baghdad. This is all about keeping his puppet master, Putin, happy.
