Russian Food Quality Degrades As Income Falls - Econ Lessons

As Russia's disposable income falls and prices increase, the Russians replace everyday goods with inferior goods. In Economics, this is a known phenomenon. Inferior goods demand rises as people have less income and have hard times. Russian food quality can be measured on the food quality index as some of the worst in the world. This subsequently has an effect on human health in Russia. If Russians want to make the world a better place, they must be aware of the impact on their long-term health and lives caused by economic disruptions from this geopolitical event. If they serve their families inferior goods at the culinary table because of falling income and rising prices, this has unintended consequences for future generations.
