President-elect Donald Trump, during a lengthy, wide-ranging news conference in Florida on Monday, threatened to dismiss federal employees working from home who don’t return to the office, promised more lawsuits against the media, defended his embattled defense secretary pick, said he would consider a pardon for New York Mayor Eric Adams and said he has a “warm spot” in his heart for TikTok, the social media app that faces a U.S. ban. At the outset of the news conference, Trump appeared with SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son to announce the Japanese firm’s major investment plans in the United States.

Acting labor secretary Julie Su announced Monday that President Joe Biden will be inducted into the Labor Department’s Hall of Honor.

“The Hall of Honor is how we acknowledge the labor heroes of America, and as we reflect on your legacy, Mr. President, the way that you always have workers’ backs, the way that you put workers first, there is really no one like you,” Su said at an event at the Department of Labor.

Previous inductees include labor leader Dolores Huerta, former president Ronald Reagan and the essential workers of the coronavirus pandemic.

🚨 BREAKING: President Biden Inducted into Labor Department Hall of Honor

President Biden was inducted into the U.S. Department of Labor’s Hall of Honor today, recognizing his unwavering, 50-year commitment to workers and their families. Under his pro-union leadership, over 16 million jobs have been created, pensions secured for 1.2 million, and interest in union membership has doubled—strengthening the middle class and driving an economy built from the bottom up.

Established in 1988, the Hall of Honor celebrates those who’ve transformed the lives of U.S. workers. It is housed in the Frances Perkins Building in Washington, D.C.
