This failed thanks to 2 independent Senators that used to be Dems. (Sinema and Manchin)
By Wednesday night, the Senate will vote on the confirmation of President Bidens National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Chair Lauren McFerran.
If McFerran is confirmed, the NLRB will maintain a pro-worker majority at least through August 2026. To protect workers right to organize and collectively bargain, it is critical for McFerran to be confirmed.
Thats why we need as many people as possible to call their senators to ask them to confirm her nomination today.
Will you make a call to protect the NLRBs pro-worker majority through 2026? Enter your information (on the right) to receive a call or dial 855-873-8618.
Here are a few talking points:
I strongly urge you to confirm Chair McFerran for another term.
McFerran is a public servant with decades of experience as a labor lawyer.
So far during her tenure at the NLRB, she has upheld the rights promised by the National Labor Relations Act while treating everyone fairly.
She has a deep understanding and commitment to the labor law she is charged with administering, and to the agency she chairs.
Workers are organizing at an increasing rate. Last year, a study found that 60 million Americans wanted to join a union if they could. The NLRB is the sole government agency that enforces most private sector workers rights to organize and collectively bargain.
With workers turning to the NLRB for union elections and the enforcement of our organizing rights in increasing numbers, the agencys seats need to be filled to tackle this workload.
