By: Bruno J. Navarro
Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean blasted anti-tax rhetoric Thursday, arguing that Americans owed something back to the nation that created the worlds most successful economy.
In an appearance with Home Depot [HD 51.87 -0.29 (-0.56%) ] co-founder Bernie Marcus on CNBCs The Kudlow Report, Dean took a shot at the businessmans stance.
You made a lot of money because you live in the United States of America, he said. We owe something to the government to grow up in this great country. Im tired of hearing people in the private sector talk like they dont owe the government anything. We do. This is a great country because we all pay into it. Its about time we all pay into it.

Why turn the economy over to a guy who invests in the Cayman Islands, has a Swiss bank account and whos advocating doing the same things which wrecked the economy in the first place, which is giving the Wall Street guys free rein to do whatever they want, he said. That makes no sense at all. I think the idea that Mitt Romney will be the next president given the record of Wall Street and creating this mess is laughable.

(3,622 posts)Aren't they breaking their oath of office by not protecting the people's treasury
and our constitution and rules of law?
Are they not derelict in their duty by making loans instead of levying taxes to pay for our goods and services?
Tell me why this interest debt and its principal belongs to the people? We did not authorize this?
We hired someone to raise tax and pay bills, and what fraud has taken place instead?
Stress the people with no jobs and distract them from this criminality? This coup d etat?
Stop the fraud. Prosecute these swindlers. NOW!

(13,632 posts)Dean's tired of people not wanting to give back to government for government's good job of putting the USA first in the world.
There's a lot of ways to give back. Yes, taxes is one way.
The title is made to cater to the stereotype that Dems just want to raise taxes in order to just give it away to undeserving people so those people will then vote Dem.
The article ends with a much larger opposing view hinting that Obama does a bunch of bad stuff with pot-shot after pot-shot without once giving an example.

(1 post)The tax discussion in America is unfocused. Nobody wants to really discuss the issues.
As soon as I have enought posts to start a thread, lets talk tax reform.
