Related: About this forumFlorida deputy too drunk to receive MADD award
But in Florida, a 4-year deputy being honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving for making more than 100 DUI arrests was too intoxicated to pick up his award.
Pinellas County deputy Michael Szeliga arrived at a statewide police training event "ready to party," according to WFLA.
Szeliga, who allegedly packed a bottle of liquor for the 2-day training event in Fort Lauderdale, was described as staggeringly drunk by a witness at the Friday night banquet where he was slated to receive the MADD award.
A 274-page report on the deputys behavior indicates he and two other officers went to the hotel pool, where they drank alcohol instead of attending DUI training. Szeliga drank and played cornhole until he saw his fellow deputies leaving training. Then he returned to his room to get ready for the awards ceremony.

(6,604 posts)4. Beanbag toss, essentially.
Cornhole is what they call it by me in Ohio, but I'll bet there are regional differences.
The goals consist of inclined boards with a circular cut-out as the target.
Really boring without alcohol.

When I moved to Ohio and they were talking about games of cornhole, I had to raise my eyebrows. Wasn't sure I wanted to be part of it.
In Iowa and Missouri, when someone mentioned cornhole, you covered up.
