(321,003 posts)Roger's writings meant a lot to me over the years.. starting in the bush error when Roger was a Voice of Reason. And, I will cherish them forever.

(38,613 posts)Going through what he did with cancer, he knew that there are many stories just like his. He had his money but he really cared about what other people were going through.
Now that's class.

(179,424 posts)A friend (also dead of cancer) had worked with him at the Sun-Times. I was one of a group of people who met for dinner and then went to Roger's house to play poker. He was as engaging as you might expect and a kind and generous host.
