Related: About this forumNice way to install a new iPad. All I had to do was having it next to the old one
and everything was installed. Yes including the DU tab.
The bad part is the reason why I had to get a new iPad. When first purchased I also included the Logitech keyboard. Easier to use it. But, several months ago this board started misbehaving. At times certain letters did not react and after spending an hour with a very helpful Apple rep I decided that it was time to replace the keyboard.
But.. the new ones are of a different size, to match the size of the new iPad. So I had to get a new iPad in addition to the Logitech keyboard.
This is the way Apple works, unfortunately. At least it pays nice dividends on my shares.
Still, its is nice that all the iPads and the iPhone talk to each other. And, no, the older iPad still functions, not a brick.

(9,638 posts)You input to one of them and it goes to all of them. Fabulous. Also like how my iPads ring when Im not near the phone. Dont have to go run for the phone, just pick up the call on the iPad Im sitting next to,, and I have iPads in just about every room I use now. My iPhone and iPads are all I use anymore, along with my Apple TV and Apple Homepod mini. Great stuff.

(9,638 posts)Settings>Cellular>Calls on other devices>then turn on the allow calls button and the button for each device you want to turn on to receive phone calls.
The phone is actively operating on mobile data while the iPad communicates with the phone over your wifi network.
I have 3 iPads plus my old iPhone all connecting to my iPhone 13 mini. That way I dont need to carry my iPhone with me all over the house.
