Siri's voice on my iPhone has decreased in volume & I don't know how to make it louder. ...

This is a problem when trying to follow map directions, as I can barely hear it over the car engine.

Help?

Try asking Siri, or can you just increase the volume button? c-rational Oct 2023 #1

This is a real pain in the ass...

You have to adjust the volume WHEN SHE IS TALKING.

If you are using Bluetooth through the car's audio system, try to get her to say something that will take a while. Set a destination, leave your driveway and turn the wrong direction. When she starts to say "make a U turn", turn the volume up on your sound system before she quits talking. You can adjust the radio volume and the bluetooth volume independently, and that can be a useful feature.

If she's not talking, and you are turning the volume up, all you are doing is increasing the "ringer" volume and not the app volume. Obviously, do not adjust the volume on the phone while the car is in motion.

There is probably some other way to do it, but I know of what you speak.

The other thing I do is look for people at bus stops. Offer them a ride in exchange for having them watch the screen and tell you when turns are coming up.

How to change Siri volume and speaking rate

Learn how to change how loudly, softly, or quickly Siri speaks on your iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, or HomePod.

Change Siri's speaking volume on your iPhone

You can ask Siri to change your volume settings. Just get Siri's attention, then say "Speak louder" or "Speak quieter."

If you want to change the volume while Siri is speaking or while you're using headphones, press the Volume buttons on the side of your iPhone.

If you can't hear Siri, you might need to turn on Ring mode.

Change Siri's volume in CarPlay

While Siri is speaking, use your car's volume control to adjust the volume to the right level. This control is usually on the steering wheel or on the car’s display.

Is there a reason y’all never visit the Apple support website?
