Finally updated my husband's side of our two people apple computer to Sierra (?)

and now he has to put in a password to get on the computer. Have never had to type in a password before. What do I do?? Thanks.

They might not have the computer set to require a password after that.

You need to be an admin to change anything.

Select the user and change their login options to no password.

The system must be in a secure location, or anyone can log in and read and change his stuff. Might include passwords to sensitive accounts.

Note: people do store online passwords etc. in files and spreadsheets. Bad habit. Use a password manager app that encrypts data. Can be online account passwords. I am using SamuraiSafe to manage them.

I am a lazy person and live by myself but still do login with a password. Any account that has admin privileges should require a login, because that user can access everything on the computer.
