Related: About this forumI am a relatively new iPhone user
I use it for calls, texts and occasional visits of Facebook and Nextdoor to see what is new, thus, I continually move around the screen.
But during longer phone calls or on Facetime, when the screen starts fading I touch it to brighten it back, worrying that it may shut off. Shall I?
Thanks

Either way is ok. After a while, its all subconscious automatic, whatever your choice is.

On your Home screen, select the Settings app. Carefully go through all of the topics and their functions. You cant hurt anything and you can always chance it back. (The one exception is Reset. NEVER okay that!)
Theres a topic for your screen where you can adjust the dimming feature.
Good luck!
