howdi.

i am running a mac book air (early 2014) (warrenty long expired as has apple care) i have a question to the group. the other day was using skype , and then got a card saying skype needs apple key chain, first off what is a key chain and why do i need it ? second why does skype need a key chain? is this a backbround question. got malware bytes no infection ran avast , no infection. whew. so, is this a skype thing, and is this new ? thanks in advance from all01bear . ps ive had other issues w skype in the past . long live apple . pss , the os is high sierra if that helps

3. if the Mac itself is storing a password, its in a keychain.

(a few programs store passwords separate from Mac OS keychains.)

4. But you have the option not include Skype in Keychain, correct?

And you can still use Skype?

The alert you're getting is not from Skype but from MacOS. It's simply MacOS Keychain asking you if you want it to remember your log-in info. I was hesitant for a long time about doing this with any website, but since I'm using the iPhone now for a lot of transactions (and my use of internet commerce has exploded) it's invaluable.

You can review all your passwords stored in Keychain by going to the Safari preferences and opening the Passwords folder.

5. i had 3 options , allow , deny , always allow. id hit deny and the card would

6. got kicked out of skype . forgot my passwrd , but went to get password logbooks

put the username and the password in , but we are a bit protective , we need a code before u can proceed or somthing like that . hope that helps .

7. update: with a calm and collected head , i was able to get back into yahoo,mail and get a security

code from skype , entered the security code into the field provided and bingo , i am back in, and no pesky keychain card to bug me yet. the card says always . never . and another thing i cant remember at this time . am doing snoopy happy dance . going happ y happ y joy joy.. if i get that card again , what should i select to make it leave me alone . thanks to all who helped
