ALL Of my Friefox bookmarks are gone after an update

How do I recover them? online instructions are of no help because it is telling me to click on something 'at the top of the library window" that just isn't there. Here is what I got:

To recover them, follow the instructions below.

Click the Bookmarks button. ...
At the top of the Library window, click on Import and Backup and select Restore.
Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
In the new window that appears, click OK.
Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

when I had to recreate my entire laptop after an anti-viral update-related "crash," I lost mine too. They did come back when I used a WIndows 10 setpoint restore (and quite a few other steps I won't go into over several days). I guess you must be on a Mac?

All I can suggest is googling the issue. I usually find a number of posts that can offer some help.

They are usually in the latest backup, if you are using Time Machine.

I would also go to Apple.com and click on Support.
Search for Firefox bookmark recovery. There will be answers and step-by-step instructions.

PS: not sure why the other posts are for windows users...this is an Apple Forum. Browsers are slightly different.
