Need Help with PDFs in Firefox

This has been an ongoing problem. Today I got sick of it. When I click a PDF link in Firefox, it downloads the file and then I have to manually open it with Acrobat. In days of yore (Leopard) it all worked fine. After an upgrade to Snow Leopard, it stopped and it does what it does now - download and that's it.

Is there a plug in that works? Where do I get it? How do I install it? Do I need to disable other plugins??

Help!!!! I am in unfamiliar territory here.
