Related: About this forumMy typing Just plain sucks. On my iPads it sucks even worse.
Both iPads have that autocorrect feature that makes me nuts with its bad choices that go unnoticed until its too late. Then there is, for me, the typing no man's land at the right of the keyboard that has me hitting the backspace or return key, thereby causing even more weird typos that arise from bad typing and then erasing a few letters to confuse the autocorrect even further.
Arrrggghhhhh.
I have one of those iPad(1) cases with the built in Bluetooth keyboard, but that makes the whole package overly cumbersome.
Even with all that, I wouldn't trade these iPads for anything.

(21,691 posts)It used to throw out all sorts of crazy suggestions when I typed the words shit and fuck. It learned that I swear. A lot. If you do catch them and cancel the suggestion, it will learn.
My husband was on the team, so it does autocorrect to the correct spelling of his unusual and never-correctly spelled last name. (That's not the part he worked in though, so I'm not privy to a ton more insight

(51,122 posts)For a while after they introduced autocorrection, I wasn't a fan of it. So I switched it off.
After a couple of releases of 'improvements' I made myself switch it back on and get used to it.
The experience for me is better with autocorrect, but it's not perfect on my iPhone, my wife's iPad, or my MacBook Pro.
Try it without.

(18,794 posts)Just like this.
I've got to use the backspace a lot.
Another annoyance is tyin to select a particular place to insert a correction.
It's much slower than a regular keyboard.
I hope they get that new mind reading feature working soon.
