Related: About this forumBought another iMac on eBay -- doesn't match the description
How much should I complain, if at all, to the seller about this tradeoff:
Description said: 500 Gb harddrive
Actual drive is: 320 Gb (boo)
Description said: 1 Gb RAM
Actual RAM: 4 Gb (yeah!)
Also the unit was pictured with a power cord and came without one. Btw this is 24" with 2.4 Intel duo and steel case and I won the auction at $275 and so far it seems to be fine, great screen condition, but I am disappointed about the drive cap because I will nearly top that out and the 500 would have been a nice fit.

(14,549 posts)A 320 Gb drive is $37, the 500Gb is $51 and RAM is about $10 per Gig so I got $30 extra RAM and short $14 on the drive swap. Probably I will just use an external drive for the extra capacity. I guess I would rather have the installed RAM than another 180Gb of internal drive space.
Just happy to have running Mac in the house again. This is the season when I do a lot of graphics and video and I love the screen on the iMacs. Couldn't live without iMovie at this point.
And if I can get old one out of safe mode I will have a back up or guest computer.

(20,886 posts)All kinds of reasons for the changed specs, but this will give the seller a chance to correct. Or, his/her rep will go down. May save others a problem in the future.
