Related: About this forumHow are you liking your iPhone 4S?
I'm seriously considering getting one in January.
But some of these newer Android phones that will go to 4.0 look pretty sweet too.
But the 4S has Siri and the high-quality camera, and I can use iCloud, which coupled with iTunes Match on my Mac should pretty much rule.
But I can get a lot of phone for less by going Android, especially given how cheap SD cards are these days.
Any thoughts and suggestions from current newer Android and 4S users would be appreciated.

(21,691 posts)I'm quite happy with it. The camera is excellent and I like the added capacity (I had a 32GB 3GS and used all but 1 GB of it - and only because I noticed I was running low on space).

(21,691 posts)I like having 64GB, too and all the other stuff, but I'm having so much fun with the camera (still and video). Even the front-facing camera - new to me; I didn't have a 4 - is fun to play with
On edit: totally agree with your suggestion to go play with one!

(20,353 posts)You can use the Dictation feature to send commands to your Mac. And you can add your own custom commands as well.

(3,342 posts)I have played with it, and like it. I have an old iPod Touch, so the basics of the UI are familiar.
I'm 80% towards the iPhone, but some of the newer Androids are pretty sweet.

(11,688 posts)Like others have said the camera is amazing for a phone. The Siri assistant comes in handy when I'm driving. She reads me any test messages I get safely. The screen is very clear and the darn thing just feels so solid. I bought the 32 Gig, up from my old 16 gig 3gs.

Okay, I think that's it, iPhone in January.
I'm thinking 32 GB too.

(31,909 posts)My only issue may -- repeat, may -- be the screen size when web browsing. And perhaps that's me and my middle-aged eyes. Maybe I'm asking too much of it? It works great, and Siri is a blast.

(3,342 posts)Wife has an Android with a 4" screen, and it's a little too big for usability. My current Android has a 3.2" screen, and it's a bit small. Some of the newer awesome phones like the RAZR have 4.3" screens, and it's just way too big.
I bet Apple chose 3.5" after doing massive numbers of usability tests. But then they'd do that test counting normal vision. Oops.

Great point about Apple -- that came about through tons of research.

(3,342 posts)Ever wonder why the stores are so good?
They built mockups in a warehouse and had people go through them.
Ever wonder why unpacking an Apple product seems so pleasant an experience?
Because since the first Mac they run trials of people unpacking their products. They watch the video of the unpacking and listen to comments on experiences to see what to change to make the experience more pleasant.
