copy/paste issues

I can't do copy/paste for any image I try for a famous image off the Internet to a post I am posting here on DU. However, I could do it for an email I was sending. I don't understand why it worked for one and not the other.

The image is the head of an angel in Da Vinci's Virgin of the Rocks (London version), an extremely famous work of art. There are LOTS of images of this angel on the Internet. Can anyone give me a link that I can use in my post? For future images, how can I phrase my search to give me only reproduce-able images?

Please help! I want to spread great art far and wide here at DU. We all need art now!

Short of it is that images have to be HOSTED OUTSIDE OF DU AND LINKED TO

I use postimages.org and imgbb.com

Everyone who posts images finds some hosting site they get familiar with and develop a workflow.

Good luck.

I hope you got the pics I sent, just don't repost them here.

3. I had 3 images. With the help I got here at DU I was able to post 2. I used the instructions I got here, BUT

then I got to the 3rd and last image and I tried and tried and tried and finally gave up in despair.

I just got exhausted trying. Maybe on another day I'll have more success. I'd really like to share the delight of these paintings.

My computer guru will be here next week and I'm sure he'll be able to help. I'll post in the Lounge as usual. These works of art are not obscure stuff: da Vinci, Matisse and Monet.

You may have run across a "webp" image that DU cannot render.
I posted one (ran preview on it) and that's when I discovered that it wasn't a jpeg, or png or gif.

It has to be converted first. I can expand on that if this is your case.

Yes, if you pull stuff off the web, it might be a webp format (see above) OR the link may be un-parseable by DU's software code.

When these happen, I save the image to computer disk, convert it if necessary, and then post it to an image host that is DESIGNED to create useful links for social media.

On the phone, the process is truly bizarre, but I can explain. Vastly easier to do on a computer.

Much good luck. Ask and the experts here are glad to help.

We have seen and tried it all and don't want others to run into brick walls!!!

Fauvist style and one of the most beautiful paintings I have ever seen. I found a website that will frame and send to me but in the meantime I thought it would be nice to just have a copy on a sheet of paper to look at while I wait for the framed copy to come.

You can find it on the web. Copy it here if you can. It is so lovely and god knows we could all use some "lovely" in our lives today.

I did a web search and found several.

The first has a link that does not render here. The second was up on pinterest.com, which is a site designed to make links that are easy for social media to show. Hope this helps.

First one, no go!

Second, does well.

10. That's a matter between you, your computer software and your printer.

I get a preview image before stuff goes out to print.

Something for the consultant to check out, narrowing out the unknowns, of which there seem to be many.

Good luck.

P.S. searching for help with printers will often get you search results on top of the page which are not legitimate "HP" or "Epson" or whatever.

Many use SEO (Search Engine Optimization) to get their bogus companies at the top of results, and will invariably ask you to download remote management software that installs spyware, malware, and keyboard and screen recording on your system, and are hard to remove after you find out that they have grabbed your logins and financial stuff. Happened to my ex.
