It seems to be 90s technology trying to run modern networking. It is maddening

I was looking to replace mine with something that actually works like it was designed in this century. But I have no idea what might be better. The world seems to be enamored with cloud storage but it just does not seem to make sense for large backups of pictures and video files.

If you find something better I would love to hear it.

From what I see, the "state-of-the-art" seems to be the same thing that I have right now.

It doesn't even look like they have a newer model in the decade since I bought it.

I was hoping it would be like the time when I upgraded from a home wifi router to a modern mesh network. It just felt like a generational leap in technology and ease. It does not look like that will be in the cards this time.

I may try another brand all together. That might end up being my black friday splurge.
