Anyone know how to save/archive gmails?
My gmail is reaching capacity and I would like to save years' worth of gmails. I googled and found instructions and have attempted a few times, unsuccessfully.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions -- especially if you have had success doing this!

(14,870 posts)Logon to your google account and then go to https://takeout.google.com/?pli=1
On that page you can export lots of stuff, and in particular you can export your gmail mail data.

(7,880 posts)page that suggests thunderbird or applemail for mbox. I'm not sure how to proceed. So far, I have no access to the gmail archive and the 2nd zip file mysteriously disappeared as soon as it downloaded.
Any thoughts much appreciated! Thanks for getting me this far so far.
ETA: I don't really understand the instructions I mentioned above. I'm not fluent with computerspeak.
