*UPDATE*/FIXED? - (original Subject: ) Outlook Mail suddenly/today ditched my View preferences

Last edited Tue Apr 23, 2024, 11:17 PM - Edit history (1)

UPDATE/FIXED? - Stumbled on the possible fix, that there is a square shaped Button in the upper right corner named "Immersive Reader" and this should be turned off. Sure enough, it was enabled, no idea what fat finger of mine pushed it or when, and by turning it off, everything sort of seems to be back to normal - the margin, font, line spacing. - But weird, in typing THIS here in DU, the Caps Lock button seems to be working in "opposites" - On yielding *lower* case and Off doing UPPER case.

*********ORIGINAL OP TEXT BELOW THIS LINE: ***********
Everything changed - from Composing to reading In/Out/Draft/EVERYTHING messages.

Previously - body text margin was at Left edge of screen. Font was my setting/permanent. Spacing for font was "normal" like here. Line spacing was "normal" like here.

NOW: Margin for body/text is in the middle of the page, like several Tabs. Font is some kind of Ariel, not my choice setting.

*** I tried Backspacing from the middle-Tab-place. Tried Reset to default, got worse. Tried Help from Outlook (good luck). Tried closing and re-opening hoping for the auld thing, nope.

HALP

As long as you have access to your inbox and calendar entries, I wouldn't try building a new profile. LuvLoogie Apr 2024 #3

There was some weirdness today, spam attacks, search engines going down temporarily. My "From:" address on the mac disappeared and I had to restore it. There are days (and weeks) like this.

Oh, apparently, there's a full moon!!! 🌕

One of the web search hits should give you ideas on what might have caused it and where to start fixing.

This one mentions a "reset view" menu option (It's pretty damn detailed)

Another looks promising.

There are others. I have no idea where preferences are saved: on the computer, at Microsoft (outlook.com) or both.

Good luck.
