I can't seem to get spell check to turn on. I have a refurbished HP with Chrome up. I've

gone through all sorts of machinations trying to get rid of Edge and so far, except an annoying bar that shoots over the page with news I don't want to see it has worked

And when I ask Google I get a ton of different directions on how to turn on the spell checker. The ones I love the most start with
"First close everything" (Including this video I am assuming!)

It shouldn't be this hard.

1. At the program level. Go into the options/preferences of your browser and search there for spell check.

2. In Windows. This exists in Win 11 I don't know about earlier versions.
Go to settings. On the left side click on Time & Language
Click on Typing
You will see "Autocorrect misspelt words. Turn it on.
