Has Something Changed In Facebook?
I don't have an account, but I used to be able to call up pages for businesses (golf club, music club) or the town's page and see everything.
Now, I see almost nothing and the "sign in" window takes up a quarter of the page.
I used to be able to see FB stuff without an account.
Did I inadvertently change a phone setting or is there something different about FB?

(52,834 posts)I found online. And their Twitter account had a message about it.
I'd linked to the Downdetector page for Facebook, but deleted that message quickly after seeing their comments section full of scam messages about how various Telegram accounts can supposedly help recover/unlock FB accounts, etc. Downdetector's page for Instagram had a warning against believing such posts, but there was no such warning on the FB or Twitter pages there.

I get a message saying I have to log in to see posts or photos for businesses & the town page where I live.
I've looked at these for years without seeing this message.
Weird.

Yes, I do have an account. I find it quite useful in many ways.

(70,599 posts)...I'm going to pages I've gone to on & off, for years.
I get the public/private aspect of FB, but I can't believe public businesses & a municipality went private.
That's why I brought this up.
Oh, well.

(8,781 posts)I haven't been able to access it since June 5 when Facebook disabled my account due to the "handiwork" of a hacker/phisher.

(30,594 posts)I'm able to access my "business page" when I run google incognito
Try this: https://www.facebook.com/POTUS/
I noticed there was a "Connect with Joe Biden" splash screen. I was able to "X" it. I'm on a computer.

(30,594 posts)Some places may have shut some stuff down, although it doesn't really make sense to me why a business would want to do that. My page is for local voters, but it's set so the "whole world" can find and view it.
Keep in mind this applies only to "pages" and not "profiles". (Profiles are where people have "friends".)

(70,599 posts)Because the three sites I'm having issues with are businesses open to the public. Not sure why they'd want to restrict views for the customers.
And, it didn't used to be that way. I'd go there regularly to see what's new, for years.
Like I said, weird.
