MS is pushing for One Drive to be the user's cloud of choice. I use Dropbox and Google Drive for my cloud needs, but I recently checked One Drive and MS is busy uploading files....I must have given permission to do this, but if this is the result, I might want to take the permission away.

I find they don't make management of which data goes to the cloud and how it is shared between devices transparent and intuitive. i suspect they are just trying to get us to store as much as possible in the cloud to increase profits.

to find and revise an ancient AutoCad drawing. That was a sweet experience. After booting up clean and fast, ACAD effortlessly made the changes and saved/transferred the drawing and data files to a thumb drive - with no back talk from the OS either. I was reminded that before retiring, a simpler OS and applications made that work almost fun. Now, not so much.

I understand that Windows 12 will be coming down from the Mount pretty soon. Oh boy.

For all sorts of reasons, myself being the only user being one of them, I don't want a password on my machine, neither do I want a microsoft account or bloody one drive. You have to install Windows and read the set-up screens until your eyes bleed to catch the tiny lettering that permits you to proceed without a MS account.
