new computer forcing me to use yahoo search engine

I have set the default browser to chrome. When I click the Chrome icon on my desktop I get the insufferable yahoo. I check my settings again and it says Chrome is my default browser, but in reality it isn't. The platform I use for side gig runs best on chrome and I hate all the adds on yahoo.

please help

engine you want to use.

Also it sounds like chrome is set up to use Yahoo as your default home page.

You should be able to change that in Chrome prefs too.

I do not use Chrome browser but have it installed.
Yes, go to Chrome settings, look for "search engine" on the left border
There, one can set 'search engine' preferences and behavior.

Good for them. Are they still to the right? Can your home page be yahoo while you still have chrome for searching?
