Adblock Plus, accepts payment from more than 70 companies in exchange for letting their ads through

Found that sentence tucked away in the middle of a story today that

Facebook Will Force Advertising on Ad-Blocking Users
The social network will use technology to disguise ads on its desktop service from ad-blocking software

It's best on Chrome, but there's a Firefox version as well.

I DID use Ad Block but the news of it being paid to show ads had come out earlier than this report, so I switched.

Good to know these things. Eventually, all anti-corporate entities will be bought out by corporations. Because, that's their job!

It's very prominent in the Options page.

I use AdBlock Plus along with 2 Tampermonkey scripts: Anti-Adblock Killer and Fuck FuckAdBlock, which gets around MOST of AdBlock blockers on websites.

(My computer, my desktop, my bandwidth; I decide what I want to see.)

such as the one the OP article about Facebook trying to get past them.
Already a lot of pages on the Web have a banner at the bottom saying they have detected our adblocks.
So now Ad Blockers will upgrade to get past the ad block blockers, ad infinitum.

that what the two add-on scripts I use do - but there are a few sites that still push intrusive ads (at least one time, until I add their servers to the scripts).

Almost overnight the RADAR detector was brought to market. Soon after that cops had VG-2 units which were RADAR detector detectors. Then lots of detectors were marketed with VG-2 modes that shut down the detector when VG-2 emissions were received. This added a RADAR detector detector detector and countermeasure mode to the regular RADAR detector.

(where's the 'makes me dizzy' smiley?)
