Election Reform
Related: About this forumEarlier I asked about Rank Choice Voting and like me, most weren't sure or didn't understand it.
Do I google “Bernie Sanders on Rank Choice Voting”. The first hit is a short 2 minute video where he explains it. I can’t link on my phone.
Anyway, I’m now for it. I wonder what Kamala thinks of it. I’ll see if u can find it.

(59,413 posts)Bernie being an independent maybe for it, but Democrats voting for their choice of Democrats is preferable IMO to ranked choice and open primaries that invite rethug rat fucking.

(35,281 posts)most likely put Kamala second and his votes would go to her. It’s starting to make sense to me now.
Anyway polls show Kamala would be more likely to win if it was a RCV election. There are many that do not want DonOLD to win including Publicans that would vote 3rd party than him. Those votes would go to her.

Like I said, why complicate it with the confusion and delayed outcomes that come with ranked choice?

(12,485 posts)Both parties are still learning how to use it to an advantage. It can be gamed, just like regular elections can, but in different ways. The Dems have made a few mistakes in our most recent primary by offering too many candidates. Came close to not having any dem for at least one office.

(35,281 posts)I really want to know both sides. Does WA plan to make changes to it or just toss it out.

(12,485 posts)This is the first primary I can remember using this system. There are a few offices here that came close to having two repukes as finalists because there had been so many Democratic contenders. Six days into the count, it finally settled out to one from each party.
