(14,964 posts)may have many of the same awful beliefs, but know where to draw the line.
I don't see your Tory party attempting to take over the UK, because the labour side was chosen by the people and the Tories think they deserve the power.
The Trumpsters are worse.
i don't even think that most of our Tories have the same awful beliefs, though some do (Jacob Rees Mogg, Priti Patel). The trouble with Boris is really that he has no beliefs at all, except the overriding one that Boris J. should be in 10 Downing Street.

I'll commend the Conservs for (finally) having a belly full - on the other hand, without the repeated airing of dirty laundry - it seems like they were pretty okay with a feckless miscreant ....

There's also the matter of who will replace Johnson, and the serious lack of talent in British politics. Which is most evident when looking at the Conservative benches in the commons.

(1,062 posts)Just watched Boris live stream on the Guardian. Short and sweet, no frills, to paraphrase "I did it my way, but the I have to leave now because of the heard mentality, I.E. the will of the people, feel I'm not good enough"

I saw where the US was headed as a very young man, still in college, over four decades ago. Have had heart burn since then just completely at a loss how a country at large will allow right wing idiots both drive the discussion and policy of our country AND play the GD victim every step of the way.
