Are you noticing more "Help Wanted ' or "Now Hiring' signs where you live?

I'm seeing them everywhere here in southern Ontario.

Right now it's mainly for Timmies or McDonald's. But I was not seeing the signs in windows before. Now I am.

I also receive the daily email job posting alerts from indeed canada - and I'm noticing more on there as well?

I'm just curious and not actually looking for work myself.

If you are noticing where (general region or province) are you in the country?

so no one around here has to post a sign in the window, laid off experienced retail workers are going door to door and putting in applications all over the place.

I'm in the desert southwest.

Some are for fast food like Tims or McD or A&W. Some are for the grocery stores too (I'm sorry but the UFCW is a piss poor excuse for a union. People start at far less at Save On and Extra Foods than they do at McD's here). There are lots of construction and various skilled trade jobs too that need to be filled.

I'm in the lower mainland of BC outside of Vancouver. I suspect location is why so many jobs are available. You can't live on less than $20/hr here.

On edit: Where my husband works the pay is good and they have an enhanced medical plan and dental. But the work is hard and a lot of people quit quickly. Or fail a drug test.

But even those have been absent for so long around here.

I guess that's why I'm noticing.

The other day I counted four "hiring" signs, just on my way to work.

I (very randomly) received an email from a place I applied to YEARS ago.

They still had my resume on file and wanted to know if I was looking for work.

(I'm not). But I replied, thanking them for contacting me anyway.

I had sent them my resumé almost 2 years ago. And now they send me a recruitment email. But it's for part time and must have Mandarin which I have never ever said I have.
