Many worthies short-listed, but I think Fox is an excellent choice, which was made Dec 16, 2024, before tRump really got down to trying to sabotage Canada.

(7,802 posts)I'd love if our paper money could have special editions. We don't have to kick Jackson permanently off the $20 for good, but if we could honor different historical figures temporarily from time to time as special edition bills. Kind of how they did state quarters. That would probably work best with a $1 since that's the note they probably replace and print the most of; the one-dollar bill is accessible to anyone, and one-dollar bills aren't usually worthwhile for counterfeiters to mess with and it's easily collectible. They could leave big denominations alone and express different art and concepts and people and moments on the reverse side of the smallest bill.
I know: no reason to paint the house while it's burning down...but I always thought the designs of other countries' paper currency is so cool.
