(12,303 posts)I have no doubt he will run for leadership of the Conservative Party after Polleivre. He is a media whore and loves to be the tough guy. I don’t trust him but I am not against the message right now.
ALL tariffs should have to be authorized at the FEDERAL level and not at the provincial level, unilaterally, by a degenerate mobbed-up man-baby.
Because they are strategic & affect OUR Country FEDERALLY.

(12,303 posts)While could be considered the same thing, my understanding is that a Premier has that authority.
It only affects his province not the country.

(118 posts)Waiting for Conservative #CdnMediaFailed to try & blame the tariffs on Canadian steel on "Carney" / "The Feds" / "The Libs" in 3...2...1
Even though the Hydro surcharge was implemented by Ford.
We KNOW this will happen. That's why all tariffs need to be coordinated at the FEDERAL level.

(12,303 posts)Then you are not paying attention. He was going to do this at any rate. He is trying to destroy our economy and we need to fight back. We cannot sit back and do nothing because we are afraid of a bully. This will hurt the US as much as us.
Unless of course, Trump imports Russian steel and aluminum as well as oil. I am sure that will go over well.

(81 posts)Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced Tuesday that U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick has offered an “olive branch” to Ford and other Canadian delegates to meet in Washington, D.C. and discuss a possible resolution to tariffs. In return, Ford announced that he was suspending its 25 per cent surcharge on electricity exports to three U.S. states.
