here in northern Michigan…it was a high frost …rooftops and such not much ground frost. I have lettuce growing outside in an elevated bed off the ground about 3 feet …not a frost wilt on any part.

Of course weather is different in different parts so…but I try to be positive.

I've been thinking of looking into moving there but haven't settled on a region.

I've always loved Madison, but of course homes there are ridiculously expensive...

TYIA for any insights you can provide

country--We fish in Yellow River and or Lake Wissota or the Chippewa River. --or camp or inner tube or cross country ski. very little snow last year so only got out 2x. darn.

Lots of farmland but also lots of woods and hills as we go North. I lived in Madison for 10 plus years. Have a few friends there yet. I miss Madtown-and the UW-Madison. I went to grad school there and stayed and worked for awhile.

I think that's the area I've been looking into. Straight east of Minneapolis.

Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a great place to be, although I'm not very outdoorsey. LOL

I'm just looking for somewhere reasonably safe where homes are a decent price. Tough with the foreign investors gobbling up everything under $200k.
