Latest feature planned for 2026 World Cup stretches more than 4 miles

The 2026 World Cup will leave behind more than footprints in Seattle.

The Unity Loop — a 4.25-mile walking trail stretching from Lumen Field to Seattle Center and back — will open to pedestrians ahead of the World Cup, SeattleFWC26 CEO Peter Tomozawa told the Business Journal on Thursday.

The Unity Loop, which will resemble Boston's Freedom Trail and New York City's High Line, will remain after the World Cup ends. The path will take people to the waterfront, Westlake Park, Occidental Square and the Chinatown International District along the way.

SeattleFWC26 is still working out details around how it will be marked, but there will be 110 murals throughout the city, Tomozawa said. An accompanying app will reward people who walk the trail with points that can be turned into World Cup swag.
