I just got a second mailing from these assholes based in Olympia trying to get me to send in a postcard to drop my membership in SEIU 970.
Since they did have a postage-paid postcard, I got a little creative with the wording that I filled it in with, before I sent them in to have them pay the postage. Just a few little things, like asking them to return the PPP money they got after making a big deal about allegedly 'wasteful' government spending, and also supporting the bedrock of American Labor - strong unions.
The funniest part is that I've been retired for the past 11 years, and have never in my life held a job that even allowed me the opportunity to join any union! I do come from a VERY strong union family, going back 3 generations, but my employment history went from the US Air Force, to being an officer in large bank in NYC, to a (part-time) government contracting job, so I never had the opportunity to join a union myself.
Don't know where these idiots got my name and address, or why they think I'm an SEIU member.
Incompetent assholes. If you get one of these mailers, please send them back their postcards - either blank or creatively filled in. It's not much, but every postcard they have to pay for makes me a little happier.

(68,641 posts)I used to be a member of SEUI local 1199 back when I was a Medical Assistant. Got fair pay and a year COL raise. Now that I earn a decent salary as a Physician Assistant, I'm not in the union anymore, but like you, I support them 100%.
If I see that mailer, I will send it back, postage paid, with an appropriate sentiment.
