ASHBURN, Va. (7News) An 18-year-old from Fairfax County was arrested this evening after he posted threats on social media today towards a Loudoun County middle school.
Shane D. Lucas is charged with threats of bodily injury or death to persons on school property, a Class 6 Felony.
The Loudoun County Sheriffs Office on Tuesday learned of a social media post that included a photo of a firearm and made threatening statements towards Farmwell Station Middle School in Ashburn.

Lucas was identified by LCSO Detectives and located at his residence in Fairfax on Tuesday. During the investigation, it was determined the photo of the firearm in the social media post had been pulled from the internet. A subsequent search of his residence located no firearms.
{Sheriff Mike Chapman} said Lucas was previously a student at that middle school, but the sheriff wouldn't talk specifics about a potential motive.
"I think this individual has a troubled past. Obviously he's 18 years old now, so most of that would be things when he was a juvenile, so it's nothing I can really discuss," said Chapman. "However, we were able to identify him, work with Fairfax, find out where he lived, get a search warrant, search his house, and arrest this individual."
