It’s horrible what happened and the Superintendent should get canned.

I don’t care who anyone is. Rape is rape. Sexual assault is sexual assault. Police should have immediately been called and investigation immediately started. Protecting criminal acts should be a thing of the past.

and horrified. I have a daughter who just graduated HS a few months ago. I can't imagine.......

To be clear, the school offered counseling to students who witnessed the father getting angry at school on the day of the incident. (As though that would require counseling. I have not yet heard of counseling offered for having a peer raped at school?)

It's just beyond the pale.......

Keep in mind that very few people accused of this crime - and most notably very few juveniles - are jailed until trial. So what do you do with them? That's the problem a principal faces in this sort of situation. Did the principal make the wrong move? Very possibly. Nobody is absolving him at this point.

But note the resemblance of the media coverage here and the Jesse Dirkhising murder by two gay men in the late '90s. Remember that? I don't doubt that was a grimly serious matter. But in the Rightverse it was heavily marketed at the time as 'the media is ignoring this because they don't want to admit gay men are out to get your sons.' Likewise here there is a subtext in the coverage of "men only claim to be trans so that they can prey on your daughter in the restroom." Otherwise you would have never heard of it.
