What's on the ballot in Smith County's May 2 city, school elections? Here's what to know

Early voting for the city-school elections will get underway next week ahead of Election Day on May 2.

Voting will begin Monday and end April 28, but polling centers will be closed on Tuesday, April 21 for San Jacinto Day.

Many residents throughout Smith County will vote on a combination of their city’s school board members, a Tyler Junior College bond and the next City of Tyler mayor. Winona residents are electing a mayor and the city’s next aldermen.

Registered voters will not be voting under a party for this election.
