Rep. Troy Nehls compares Trump to 'second coming' in bizarre rant

Nehls is my congresscritter. He is a dishonest asshole who was fired as a law enforcement officer. Nehls is not running this time because of pending ethics complaint, but his asshole twin brother is running. There is a very outside chance that the GOP dummymander may help in that my CD went from a R+24 to a R+16 district which could flip in a blue wave. This is an outside chance but I have hope that trump's wars and other stupidity may help

A few conservatives continue, despite the backlash, to talk about Donald Trump as if he’s akin to Jesus Christ.

Might as well just get on his knees and beg for the knob.

During a week in which Donald Trump attacked Pope Leo’s denunciation of his war with Iran and then drew allegations of blasphemy for promoting a picture of himself as a Christlike figure, most conservatives have had the sense to tone down the idolatrous rhetoric about the president.

Retiring Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls isn’t one of them.

Nehls, who has achieved a reputation as one of Trump’s more shameless sycophants in Congress, told CNN’s Manu Raju on Thursday that he believes “Donald Trump is better than sliced bread” and “almost the second coming, in my humble opinion.”

I believe that Donald Trump is, uhh, better than sliced bread. I think he’s almost the second coming, in my humble opinion. I think he’s done a fantastic job — he’s got a very difficult job. The pope’s got a tough job — you know, got issues in the church. But Donald Trump has a very, very difficult job, the toughest job in the world.

And Nehls is not the only conservative who seems resolute in portraying the president — a xenophobic bigot who’s been convicted of fraud and found liable for sexual abuse — as if he’s akin to Jesus Christ.
