City of Waco expecting 15K to attend Saturdays Trump rally; officials discuss road closures and logisticsWACO, Texas (KWTX) - The City of Waco on Thursday announced it is expecting 15,000 people to attend former President Donald J. Trumps Make America Great Again rally at the Waco Regional Airport on Saturday.
City officials said the Trump campaign has already paid the city in advance for use of the airport at 7909 Karl May Drive, security, and traffic-related costs.
Donald J. Trump for President 2024, Inc. was billed $60,714.27 for city services. This has been paid, the city told KWTX.
Road closures and traffic detours will be implemented as an impact on traffic in the China Spring area is expected throughout the day.
The parking area for the event will open at 8 a.m. and entry gates will open at noon. The event is expected to begin at 2 p.m.

(117,577 posts)There probably is some information there which would answer your question. However, if Trump is flying into the airport and does not leave the premises, then it would result in substantially less cost as compared to his rally in El Paso where TFG stiffed the city for a half-million.
Besides, with all of those good guys with guns over at the gun club the entire crowd should feel safe and secure.

(117,577 posts)Baylor was knocked out of the NCAA basketball tournament and the stretch of I-35 near Waco is conservative. Essentially, this is a big redneck tailgate party and there isn't much else to do around Waco unless you want to venture out to the Branch Davidians compound or take the short drive to Crawford to see the George W. Bush ranch. One of my brother's colleagues told him that she is planning to attend since it is within an hour of where she lives. There's a reason it's called Wacko.

(117,577 posts)but most of the stadiums in the suburbs around Austin have a capacity of 10,000 - 12,000. When they hold the state playoff games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington the crowds can get near 50,000.

It would be amusing if Luke Beasley shows up there to conduct some interviews since it really amounts to a day trip from Austin to Waco.
