Texas gained more new residents than any other state in the country from summer 2021 to summer 2022, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
The figures come from a Census Bureau report released this week that documents population gains and declines over a 12-month period ending last July.
In total, Texas has seen an increase of 470,708 people over that time, the largest gain in terms of total numbers of any state in the nation. The population of Texas now sits at 30,029,572 people, according to the report.
In terms of percentage increase, Texas ranked fourth over the 12-month period, gaining 1.6%. It trailed Florida, Idaho, and South Carolina.
