"Legendary performer and social activist Harry Belafonte, award-winning historian Michael Beschloss and Harvard professor and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Annette Gordon-Reed will join Vanderbilt Chancellor Nicholas S. Zeppos and Distinguished Visiting Professor Jon Meacham for a conversation marking the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The Chancellor’s Lecture Series event is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Vanderbilt’s Langford Auditorium.

“The Voting Rights Act of 1965: Commemorating 50 Years” will begin at 5:30 p.m. A reception will precede the discussion from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Langford Auditorium Lobby. The event is free and open to the public." (more at link)

I have long respected Michael Beschloss. It would be quite a treat to hear him in person, along with the other two people.

I hope there's a huge turnout.
