"NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Eastbound lanes of Interstate 24 will likely remain closed for hours after a tractor trailer hauling 43,000 pounds of dry pasta overturned, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

The wreck was reported around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the merger with I-40. It’s unclear what caused the semi to overturn.

TDOT's Kathryn Schulte says the wreck isn't expected to clear until 1 p.m.

I-24 eastbound remains blocked at the merger. Drivers should instead use the I-65/I-40 loop. "

(Actually, this is really a bummer, knowing how much trouble many people have had lately obtaining shelf-stable pantry items such as pasta! )
