5 GOP write-ins may appear on Pa. House ballots this fall in Allegheny County

Allegheny County’s Republican Party is celebrating successful write-in efforts that mean Republicans could compete in five additional state House races this year.

Republicans say that based on unofficial vote totals, each candidate received at least 300 Republican write-in votes in districts where Democrats had been unopposed.

But now five more Democratic incumbents seem likely to face a Republican: Dan Deasy, John Inglis, Emily Kinkead, Joe McAndrew, and Arvind Venkat.

Some of the races will be re-matches: Inglis already faced his Republican rival, Whitehall Borough Council member Stone Sobieralski, in 2024, while Deasy easily beat his Republican challenger this year, Ed Brosky, in 2022.
