Fayette County voters loving Trump so far

https://www.post-gazette.com/news/politics-local/2025/02/15/trump-fayette-county-voters-musk-uniontown-hopwood/stories/202502130105

For those of you who don't know,. Fayette County is in SW Pa, it borders WVa and a small part of MD to the south and Westmoreland county to the north and Green county to the west. It's generally rural, poor and high school educated.

It's interesting their delight stems from all the "culture wars" EOs. None of this stuff really affects them.

Only one person who was interviewed mentioned hoping the economy gets better. Another person said that cracking down on immigrants would open more jobs for Americans. Of course, all those jobs like janitoral, bussing tables, washing dishes, picking those Chambersburg peaches and other crops, currently done by migrant workers and immigrants are beneath them.

I wonder what they'll think when the money to fund rural broadband expansion or for fixing their roads or funding their local schools or even their entitlements dries up and the costs of daily living starts rising again? None of that part of Trump's plan has kicked in yet.

1. I'm believing they don't really care about that stuff, they just want their hatred and anger to be allowed to run wild

It just doesn't. These counties are overwhelmingly homogeneous and white. The only exception in Fayette county would be Uniontown.

they wanted. I heard all the time "What has Biden done?". Now they have Trump that signs an EO every day and holds it up for all to see.
He is fucking over them, but he is doing stuff. When Biden was president Democrats were too timid to talk about his accomplishments.
Oh we can't talk about the economy there are people still hurting. The Republicans on the other hand will claim they saved the world no
matter what the results, if we have a depression, it will be the Democrats fault.

But you can’t fill a sieve. You can not be heard when people of that mindset only listen to FAUX! Even with Pete on there as a regular!! There is a certain percentage of our population that is wasted in the brain.

accomplishments all the time, every day but the corporate and rightwing media filters ignored them, or lied about both the economy and what Biden and Dems were saying and doing.

aka Pennsyltucky aka North Alabama, 1969 high school grad with a sixth grade level understanding of the world I was about to be shoved into. I was given a primary education designed to teach me enough to prevent me from killing myself or others while operating the mining equipment, coal trains and steel mill machinery I was expected to work at. Or, to use an M-16 to murder people in support of the war machine. I escaped at the age of 20, found a good woman who saw the best in me, went to undergrad then law school and had a successful 45 year career in and around New York City. Staying in PA was not an option. It was a shithole place before I left 53 years ago, The place has only gotten worse. I find it difficult, if not impossible, to be sympathetic. They do not deserve our sympathy. They are hateful racists and bigots easily conned by politicians for the suckers and losers that they are. They need to learn the hard lesson the in the hardest manner.

Falling Water is beautiful as are many of the natural areas but the ingrained racism and
stupidity make it tough to live there. It really is Trump country. One county over from
Fayette in the town of Washington, PA I was stuck behind a car with a bumper sticker that
called for that c***t Hillary to be beaten and put in jail, it also had Christian Crosses, something
about Lib-Tards, and a Confederate Battle Flag on it too.

Those people haven’t a clue on what Trump & Musk are going to do to the Country.

Trump, “I love the uneducated.”
