Erie County Elections Board switches ballot printers after 2024 election issues
Erie County will contract with a new ballot vendor in an effort to avoid the chaos that plagued the printing and mailing of ballots during the 2024 general election.
In a 7-0 vote, the Erie County Board of Elections on Tuesday authorized County Clerk Karen Chillcott to enter an agreement with Phoenix Graphics, a Rochester-based, family-owned business that touts itself as the “largest supplier of ballot materials in New York,” according to its website.
The company also provides ballots to multiple Pennsylvania counties, including Allegheny, Lancaster, Fayette and Philadelphia counties.
Chillcott said the company was one of two vendors that responded to a request for proposals. It was selected by the board’s RFP committee, composed of herself, Deputy Clerk Megan Moore and Director of Elections Tania Fernandez.
