I cant imagine living anywhere else. Mom was from York County, Dad from Reading, DH from Philly, my brother lives near Harrisburg. Now our state is even better with Gov Shapiro and Sen. Fetterman.

(52,358 posts)My relatives have lived there since the 1600s! One of them was the only woman in the commonwealth to be charged with witchcraft. Her neighbors had missing stock from their farms and saw levitating cows. Even her own daughter testified against her but William Penn came to her aide. He basically laughed at the whole notion of witchcraft. My mom did research with our genealogy and discovered this fun fact.
We have lived in the Poconos, vacationed at the Jersey Shore and lived in Montgomery County (a mile from where Dr Oz says he lived) as well as Center City at 12th and Lombard in a home built 150 years earlier. I worked and went to college in Phila and even though my family moved to CA in 1984, I still consider it my home.
