Krasner wins Philadelphia DA primary

This was the most intriguing primary in the state to me. It pitted the incumbent Krasner, the most high profile "progressive DA" in the country, against Carlos Vega, a homicide prosecutor who was one of many Krasner fired when he took over in 2017. Vega also has the full support of the FOP along with its large expenditures on his behalf. Krasner won bt about 65-35.

Krasner will face Chuck Peruto who won the R primary.

Two horrendous propositions pass, allowing the Re-thugs in the legislature to overrule the governor on emergency measure.
Which means the mask mandates would have been stopped after 3 weeks.

where the Sec of Health has the final say.

I don't actually think these two changes will have much, if any, effect. The Rs aren't going to stop emergency declarations or extentions when federal money is at stake. Probably the real end result will be more work for themselves.

but it is his administration's contention that the current emergency declaration is covered under a different public health law.
