It's time to get the word out.
Since being started by Blue Oregonian Kari Chisholm earlier this week, the Facebook community and the petition are gathering support at a rather delightful rate
As of now, the FB Community at Save KPOJ has almost 3000 likes. The page for FOX Sports Radio 620? 60.
The petition at the page SaveKPOJ.com? Over 7,000.
Portland deserves a great, LOCAL liberal voice. Spread the word. Support the POJ.
Also, Carl Wolfson is not letting the grass grow beneath his feet. Meetings are apparently being had. Carl wants to speak to Portland again.
Also, Adam Klugman nails it to the wall at Blue Oregon, here.

(889 posts)Pete DeFazio issued an excellent statement in support of KPOJ and a link to the petition on his FB page. It's great to have an elected representative that cares about progressive values.

(24,752 posts)signed, but I still think it won't go anywhere as long as the target is Clear Channel. Closing KPOJ was a revenge move, pure and simple. In order to get prog talk radio going in Portland again, we'll need a true community effort, like KBOO. Relying on corporate resources to spread an inherently anti-corporate message is folly.

(14,197 posts)you need to own a radio station. Are there any stations that are not already owned by one of the big corps, or any way to buy one from them?

(105 posts)Know it's not Portland, but Eugene lost it's progressive station and Ed Shultz was going to buy it up, right before he went to MSNBC. It's still off air and open for sale by the Arlie group. Now that we've lost KPOJ also it's a major loss.
