The Oklahoma State Department of Education is looking to pay for a supplier for Bible lessons for elementary students.
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma State Department of Education is looking to pay for a supplier for Bible lessons for elementary students.
The Request for Proposal (RFP) stated that it was posted Friday and was looking for suppliers to provide lessons to integrate the Bible and character education into the elementary-level social studies curriculum.
This comes after the newest proposed academic standards for social studies which has a lens on Christianity and the teaching of Jesus. It also includes an overview of world religions.
First reported by Oklahoma Watch, the OSDE is looking specifically for “biblical content that demonstrates how biblical figures influenced the United States.” (snip)

In 2016 Oklahoma voters voted against using public funds for religious purposes. It’s unknown how this doesn’t go against what voters voted on then.
