Ohio election officials reviewing rolls for inactive voter registrations

MARIETTA, Ohio (WTAP) - Ohio election officials are reviewing their records for inactive voter registrations.

Washington County Board of Elections Director Mandy Amos said a registration is considered inactive after two years without voting activity.

Voting activity can include voting, along with signing petitions or someone making a change to their registration.

Amos said the Board of Elections has sent letters to about 2500 people in Washington County to let them know their voter registration is inactive. If a voter’s registration remains inactive for another four years after receiving that letter, their registration will be deleted.
